We’re looking for an experienced Florist with a flair for design and a dedication to customer satisfaction. In this on-site role, the Florist will be responsible for creating visually stunning floral arrangements, supporting our retail operations, and executing decorative setups for weddings and events. This role requires a mix of creativity, technical skill, and customer service experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Floral Design: Create bespoke flower arrangements, floral displays, and compositions that align with both modern and garden-style design aesthetics.
- Customer Service: Act as a knowledgeable, friendly ambassador for Samantha Nass Floral Design, ensuring an exceptional customer experience for all retail and event clients.
- Event Preparation: Execute decorative floral setups for weddings and events with high attention to detail and consistency.
- Retail & Inventory Management: Assist retail customers, handle flower pricing and purchasing for both retail and event needs, and maintain product quality in the retail store.
- Organization & Order Fulfillment: Manage multiple orders efficiently, staying organized with ongoing projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Secondary Responsibilities: Assist with retail display maintenance, shop upkeep, and client assistance on the sales floor as needed.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of floral design experience in a professional setting preferred.
- Proven customer service and retail experience, ideally in a floral or event-focused business
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a positive, professional attitude
- Expert in Dutch hand-tied bouquets, tapered vase arrangements, and designs using oasis foam
- Skilled in using a floral knife and proficient in floral design techniques beyond basic clippers
- Knowledgeable in flower types, seasonal blooms, and proper care
Technical & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under time constraints
- Strong math skills for accurate pricing and budgeting
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for 8-10 hours as needed
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on a W2 basis
Availability:
- Willingness to work weekends and flexible hours, especially during peak seasons.
