Line Cook

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating food items in accordance with recipes, standards, and safety guidelines. Working as part of the kitchen team, the Line Cook ensures consistency, speed, and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items to order, following established recipes and portion sizes.
  • Set up, stock, and maintain assigned station(s) before, during, and after service.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with food safety standards.
  • Assist with prep work and kitchen tasks as directed by the Chef or Kitchen Manager.
  • Monitor food quality and freshness, ensuring all items meet restaurant standards.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Follow all sanitation, health, and safety regulations.
  • Assist with inventory, storage, and rotation of food supplies.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role preferred.
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Food handler’s certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in hot and fast-paced kitchen conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
